FEMALE-FRONTED FINEST JACKROCK

Say hello to WHY AMNESIA: The female-fronted five-piece from North-Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, represent dirty rock´n´roll with kick-ass-attitude, groovy riffs and bass lines, and catchy lyrics. With their black leather jackets and dark retro sunglasses those dudes might remind you of a biker gang - which is somehow fitting, as their music is the perfect soundtrack for a long ride on a winding and dusty road. 

Since 2014, WHY AMNESIA consist of outstanding singer Shirley Golightly, lead guitarist Theus Caster and Sanni Wea on rhythm guitar.  In 2025 Tony on bass guitar, former member of German indie-rock band KAISER FRANZ & HOFKAPELLE, and Viva, also drummer of the German punk/new wave/rock band PHANTOMS OF FUTURE, have joined the band.

In 2024 they toured Germany and Switzerland as opening act for German hard rock legends VICTORY, and were on stage at WASSENROCK Open Air with THE NEW ROSES, MOTORJESUS and GHOSTHER. In 2025, WHY AMNESIA had the great pleasure and honour to be a part of the line up of SUMMERSIDE FESTIVAL in Grenchen, Switzerland, and warm up the crowd before international bands like EUROPE, BILLY IDOL and ROYAL REPUBLIC. Recent highlights have also included festival shows throughout Germany and the Netherlands as well as support shows   for THE UNITY, COBRA SPELL and THE DIRTY DENIMS. New music will be out soon: After their single release „Come Out And Play“ in July 2025 a new album is scheduled for 2026. Stay tuned!
